Good Energy HomeGen: Offgrid
Good Energy’s Offgrid scheme has been designed especially for people whose homes are not connected to the local electricity grid and are powered entirely by a renewable generator such as a wind turbine or a solar PV array.
HomeGen: Offgrid pays generators 4.5p for every unit of electricity they generate - even though they use it all themselves. To be eligible for HomeGen: Offgrid your generator need to have an installed capacity of less than 10kW.
How it works
HomeGen: Offgrid is simple. What you will need is an accredited total generation meter. You can have this fitted when your generator is installed or you can ‘retro-fit’ it. This meter records everything that the generator produces. Once a year, we will ask you for a meter reading from your total generation meter and will credit you for the units of electricity your generator has produced.
